With over 20 years of experience in delivering optimal business results, developing strategic partnerships, leading key procurement transformations, leading supplier/customer relationships, and leading successful business value creation initiatives through my strategic sourcing, commercial, negotiations and leadership expertise, Sydney is a distinguished transformational leader and an all-round business commercials executive.
Sydney is currently an Executive Head of Strategic Sourcing and Facilities at Barloworld Equipment (BWE), driving and providing end-to-end business commercials enablement capabilities. BWE is a leading provider of integrated solutions for earthmoving, mining, and construction equipment. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Cape Town Graduate School of Business, a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, and a Bachelor’s degree in Quantitative Management from UNISA. He recently completed a professional certificate in Business Development Management with the University of Cape Town. He is a full professional member (MCIPS) of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
Sydney have worked across various industry sectors, such as engineering and management consulting, steel and metal, power, ICT, cement, mining, logistics and transportation, automotive, industrial equipment, for organizations such as Accenture SA, LafargeHolcim SA, Hatch Africa, Eskom, SITA, Scaw Metals, and currently Barloworld.
