Lucia Hlongwana is the Founder and Managing Director of Walena Africa Capital. She is a Registered Master Tax Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience in managing tax risk, negotiations and settlement, cross-border restructuring and refinancing, mergers and acquisitions, tax planning and transfer pricing. She holds BProc, LLB and LLM degrees and has several additional diplomas in Executive Leadership Development. Hlongwane is a transformational leader with a passion for coaching staff and an ability to work independently to bring about optimal results. She was Head of Tax for Barclays Africa Group and Shell Oil Products for Africa, and worked in several leading roles for SARS.
