Johnstone Makhubu is the Deputy Commissioner responsible for Taxpayer Engagement and Operations at the South African Revenue Service, in this role he is responsible for optimal performance of SARS tax and customs operations as well as the specialised functions (i.e., syndicated tax and customs crimes, specialised audits, voluntary disclosures and others).
Johnstone Makhubu is the immediate past Chief Revenue Officer a role in which he was responsible for revenue forecasting and planning, trade, and industry statistics as well as compliance programme management. Mr Makhubu has previously held senior positions Eskom, Anglo American and Unilever, he holds qualifications in engineering, commerce and business administration amongst others.
